A RISING HERO Ch.2

At school...

"I heard this mutant can control the weather and can make it snow, or rain, or whatever, whenever she wants" classmate1 of Ellie's was talking.

"Yes, there is such a mutant and her name is Storm from X-Men. Do some research before you talk about someone famous." classmate2 said.

"Won't it be great if we could invite at least one of those X-Men in our town? I mean, think about it. Every other town in the area will be jealous of us if we invite a professional mutant." classmate1 said.

"Just what do you mean by 'professional'?" classmate2 criticized.

"Hey, Ellie. You ok?" classmate1 asked Eleanor a bit worried.

"Huh." Ellie snaped out "What? Is lunch break over?".

"You seem a bit off today, Ellie. Have you forgotten to sleep again?" classmate1 asked.

"Who? Me? No. Not at all."

"You said you had an accident at home this morning. Do you still feel any pain?" classmate2 asked.

"No. Not at all. I feel great." Ellie raises her hands to show that nothing is wrong with her, only for her right arm to get a sudden cramp "Ow!"

"I guess that answers the question." classmate2 said giggling.

When Ellie returns home, she finds Joshua sitting in front of the TV watching the news.

"How did it went?" he asked.

"Fine. As usual."

"You know, Ellie. There's going to be a celebration next month and I need you to find a suitable dress for then."

"What would be the celebration about?"

"A donation for children in need."

"O-kay. Well, I'm up to my room."

While Ellie was climbing the stairs she felt a little dizzy. She rushed to the bathroom to wash her eyes, thinking it might be from exhaustion. When Ellie wanted to open the box with new towls, it was jammed.

"Open up." Ellie tried a little harder, but still the box wasn't opening, "Open UP!". Suddenly, a streak of energy formed in her hand and she threw it towards the box. The box was destroyed and the towls were all over the floor. Ellie's anger suddenly turned into fear. She was horrorfied of what she's done.

"Oh my." she looked around the floor and then picked a towl. "Did I just..." then she looked around the bathroom once more "Did I really just do that?". Confused, Ellie went over to the window. She tried to recreate the same event again. She was looking at her hand, hoping that streak would happen again. But nothing. "Why would it not work!?" She got very angry... and suddenly her hand began to glow... the streak appeared again. Ellie was starring at the streak for a few seconds and then she finally said "Cool."

"Ellie! Is everything alright in there? I thought I heard an explosion." Joshua asked from outside the bathroom, worried.

"Everything's fine, dad. Just dropped the... uh... I dropped the basins. I tried to place them on another spot, but they fell on the floor. I'm sorry, father."

"It's fine. Just be a little more careful. You could hurt yourself."

"Okey. I promise." then Ellie looked one more time at her hand "Hello, superhero me."
